Hai Kakar told me it could be dangerous to use my real name and gave me the pseudonym Gul Makai, which means 'cornflower' and is the name of the heroine in a Pashtun folk story.
It's a kind of Romeo and Juliet story in which Gul Makai and musa Khan meet at school and fall in love.
這個傳說有點類似《羅密歐與朱麗葉》的故事：古爾·瑪凱在學校認識了穆薩·汗，兩人墜入愛河。But they are from different tribes so their love causes a war.
但他們來自不同的部落，因此兩人的相愛引發了一場戰爭。
However, unlike Shakespeare's play their story doesn't end in tragedy.
不過，與莎士比亞的劇本不同的是，他們的故事並非以悲劇結尾。Gul Makai uses the Quran to teach her elders that war is bad and they eventually stop fighting and allow the lovers to unite.
