第一段語法符號講解

複合句，主句爲主謂+賓語從句結構，賓語從句中的主語被提前了，謂語賓語則在後面. 還原爲 officials claim in Brussels that chickens are not fit to grace tables.

複合句，主句爲主謂+賓語從句結構，賓語從句中的否定詞提前了，後面是完整的賓語從句，主系表結構，以及主謂賓結構.
3. differences put sand in the wheels of trade…
簡單強調句，主句爲強調句結構，主謂賓結構. 後面不是 that 引導的定語從句，因爲 that 不充當句子成分.
4. farmers are complaining.
簡單強調句，主謂結構.
5. razor must be approved and machine needs the EU’s okay.
並列複合句，5-1 句，主謂結構，that 引導的定語從句修飾主語 razor，爲主謂賓結構，後面跟一個 before 引導的時間狀語從句，主謂結構.
5-2 句，主句主謂賓結構，同樣跟了一個 before 引導的時間狀語從句，主謂賓結構.
第二段語法符號講解
1. it happens, a razor that is unlikely to electrocute Americans.
複合句，主句爲主謂賓結構，that 引導的定語從句修飾主語，爲主系表結構，句首有一個 as 引導的非限制性定語從句. (2.2.1)
這裏的翻譯，想表達的意思是歐洲生產的電動剃鬚刀出口到美國，也不會有問題，那麼這裏的美國人，其實質已經是在美國的使用者了.
2. businesses ask why (we) have…
複合句，主句爲主謂+賓語從句結構，why 引導賓語從句，省略了主語 we，應爲why we have，後面有一個 where 引導的地點狀語從句，爲主謂結構.
3. Politicians agree…America and the EU have been trying to reach a deal which would eliminate the need…
並列複合句，首句爲主謂結構，後面是 so 作連詞，第二個句子爲主謂賓結構，which 引導定語從句修飾 deal，該從句爲主謂賓結構.
4. They hope to finish…
簡單句，主謂賓結構.
5. Although…the details are complex enough…
複合句，主句爲主系表結構，這裏 enough 的作用，即 so，可以看作 the details are so complex that they may be…所以後面是 that 引導的結果狀語從句，該從句爲主系表結構.
句首 although 引導的讓步狀語從句爲主系表結構.
第三段語法符號講解

Why 後面省略了 may they be hard-pressed to get a deal at all.

簡單句，主系表結構，動詞不定式作表語.

並列句，and 連接的兩個句子均爲主謂賓結構.
