北京消息，中國政府週三宣佈，爲慶祝二戰勝利70週年，決定全國放假1天。

據中國政府網消息，2015年是中國人民抗日戰爭（China's victory in the war against Japanese aggression）暨世界反法西斯戰爭（the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War）勝利70週年。爲使全國人民（all people nationwide）廣泛參與中央及各地區各部門舉行的紀念活動，2015年9月3日全國放假（national holiday）1天。
今年初，中國宣佈將舉行紀念二戰勝利70週年閱兵儀式（military parade）。這是中國首次爲慶祝二戰勝利（commemorate the WWII victory）舉行閱兵式（hold a special parade）。
日本實行投降，系在1945年9月2日日本政府簽字於投降條約（sign the formal surrender）以後。故抗日戰爭勝利紀念日（Victory Day）應定爲9月3日。
