北京消息，據衛生部門週五發佈的報告顯示，2013年9月中國內地傳染病死亡1478人，其中艾滋病爲第一位死因。

據國家衛計委消息，上個月艾滋病死亡1084人。第二大殺手（second-biggest killer）是肺結核（tuberculosis），導致161人死亡（claim，有奪去生命，導致死亡的意思）。排在第三位的是狂犬病（rabies），死亡128人。全國共報告法定傳染病例（infectious disease cases）597843例。
其中霍亂（cholera）報告11例，無死亡（result in death）；瘟疫（plague）和霍亂歸類爲（categorize）甲類（Class A）傳染病，即最嚴重的傳染病。
另外，共300,391起病例爲乙類（Class B）傳染病。肝炎（hepatitis）、肺結核、梅毒（syphilis）、細菌性和阿米巴性痢疾（dysentery）和淋病（gonorrhea），佔乙類傳染病報告發病總數的95%。
丙類傳染病發病297441例，死亡20人（claim 20 lives）。最常見的病程依次爲手足口病（foot-and-mouth disease）、其它感染性腹瀉病（infectious diarrhea）和流行性腮腺炎（mumps），佔丙類傳染病報告病例總數的96％。
