第一段詞彙解析
①objective = destination。
②seemed alien = looked strange。

第二段詞彙解析
①這句話中有兩個 which 引導的並列的定語從句修飾 book，第二個定語從句中還有一個省略了關係代詞 that 的從句作 think 的賓語。

第三段詞彙解析
①on the horizon 原意爲“在地平線上”，也引申爲“即將來臨的”，“初露端倪的”之意。另可表達爲 broaden/expand/widen one’s horizons，開闊某人的視野。
