China hopes the upcoming CICA Summit in Shanghai will be a milestone for security cooperation in Asia, a foreign ministry spokesman said on Tuesday.
Spokesman Qin Gang said at a news briefing, "We will tell the world that security in Asia should be determined by Asian countries, and the countries are able and wise enough to safeguard and promote security in Asia through cooperation."
Delegations from nearly 40 countries and international organizations will attend, with 14 heads of state and government leaders and eight international organization chiefs confirming their presence. Chinese President Xi Jinping will chair the summit.
中國外交部的一位發言人本週二表示，中國希望即將在上海舉辦的亞信峰會將成為亞洲安全合作上的一塊里程碑。
發言人秦剛在一次新聞釋出會上表示：“我們要告訴全世界，亞洲的安全應由亞洲國家來決定，亞洲各國通過互相合作，完全有能力、有智慧保障和提升亞洲的安全。”
來自近40個國家和國際組織的代表將參加此次峰會。14位國家元首、政府領袖和8位國際組織主席將確認出席。中國主席將主持此次峰會。

文中的CICA Summit就是“亞信峰會”的意思。“亞信會議”的全稱為Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia(亞洲相互協作與信任措施會議)，簡寫作CICA。summit的意思就是“政府間的首腦會議、峰會”，又如2012年在巴西里約熱內盧舉辦的Earth Summit(地球峰會)。
