李河君指責做空者釀成漢能股災

Li Hejun, the Chinese solar energy entrepreneur, blamed short sellers for the “disaster” that has befallen his Hanergy Group in a rare speech months after shares in the Hong Kong-listed subsidiary plunged and were suspended.

中國太陽能企業漢能集團(Hanergy Group)在香港上市的子公司股票暴跌並遭停牌幾個月後,該集團董事長李河君罕見地發表了講話,指責做空者是讓他的集團遭遇“災難”的罪魁禍首。

The steep rise and sharp decline in the shares of Hanergy Thin Film have come to symbolise the overheated Chinese stock market. Mr Li was on paper briefly the richest man in China.

“The suspension has been a disaster, for the listed companies, the parent group, for small and medium investors as well as for myself,” he told employees in a speech released on Tuesday.

“The only winners are the short-selling institutions and short traders who made great profit.”

Mr Li said Hanergy had not received “a convincing reason” why regulators would not allow trading to resume.

李河君表示,漢能至今也沒有得到一個“令人信服的停牌理由”。

The Financial Times has previously reported on the high level of related transactions between Hanergy and its listed unit, the group’s reliance on high-interest non-bank loans, and its unusual trading patterns in Hong Kong.

英國《金融時報》(The Financial Times)此前報道了漢能集團與漢能薄膜發電之間頻繁的關聯交易、該集團對高息非銀行貸款的依賴、以及漢能薄膜發電股票在香港股市中的奇特交易模式。

In the speech, Mr Li denied that Hanergy Group had removed cash from the listed group, a practice known as “tunnelling”. Last month, the listed unit reported a net loss of HK$59m (US$7.6m) for the first half of 2014, compared with a profit of HK$1.7bn in the same period last year.

在講話中,李河君否認漢能集團從其上市子公司中套現獲利(即所謂“掏空”上市公司)。上個月,漢能薄膜發電發佈2015年中期報告,顯示上半年該公司淨虧損5900萬港元(合760萬美元),而2014年同期該公司盈利17億港元。

The listed company’s assets include about HK$4.1bn in receivables, mostly from affiliates of Hanergy Group, according to the interim report released on Tuesday. It reported deposits and prepayments of about HK$2.5bn, primarily to the mainland-based group.

週二公佈的中期報告顯示,該公司的資產包括約41億港元的應收款項,其中大部分來自漢能集團的聯屬公司;按金及預付款項約25億港元,主要是給總部位於內地的漢能集團。

Mr Li also denied that he had shorted or manipulated his own stock. “Who here can stir-fry stocks? I can’t!” he said, using a slang term. “I’ve been building dams for 20 years. I came up through industry. When would I have had time to learn stock manipulation?”

李河君還否認他做空過或操縱過漢能的股票。“誰會炒作股票?我本人不會炒!”他說,“我幹了20年水電,是幹實業的出身,我什麼時候炒過股票?”

Hanergy fired 2,000 employees this summer. Many of those who remain bought shares shortly through the plunge, ploughing their savings into an employee stock purchase scheme.

今年夏天,漢能裁減了2000名員工。留下的員工中有許多在漢能股票暴跌前不久還購買了漢能的股票,將自己的積蓄投入了一個員工持股計劃。

“Today, I want to say that our idealism and confidence have never been shaken,” Mr Li concluded. “Some people suspect we will fall but we still proudly stand.”

“今天,我要跟各位說,我們的理想和信念從來沒有發生動搖。”李河君總結道,“有些人懷疑我們會因此倒下,但是,我們至今仍昂首屹立。”
