財新傳媒獲Markit中國PMI冠名權

HSBC is out. Caixin and the Nikkei are in.

匯豐(HSBC)退出之後,財新傳媒(Caixin)和日本經濟新聞社(Nikkei)接手了Markit採購經理人指數(PMI)的冠名權。

A week after HSBC said it wouldn't renew its five-year contract to sponsor Markit's global purchasing managers' indices, two new sponsors have been revealed.

此前匯豐表示,不會續簽針對Markit全球PMI指數的爲期五年的贊助合同。就在該行作出這一表態一週後,兩家新的贊助商被曝光。

Caixin Media, the Beijing-based group known for its independent, in-depth journalism on China, said today it would sponsor the influential manufacturing and services reports on the mainland, beginning in august.

今天,財新傳媒表示,將從8月份開始,贊助這一極有影響力的關於中國內地製造業和服務業的報告。財新傳媒總部位於北京,以對中國的獨立而有深度的報道而聞名。

Nikkei, the Japanese media group, said on Monday it would sponsor ten of the surveys in the Asia-Pacific region, from India to Hong Kong.

日本媒體集團日本經濟新聞社則在週一表示,它將贊助該指數在亞太十個地區的調查活動,其中包括對印度和香港地區的調查。

Caixin said the deal is part of a wider push to increase its capabilities in financial information. "This is a very important step Caixin has taken in its quest for a strategic transformation," said Hu Shuli, Caixin's editor-in-chief.

HSBC declined to comment last week on why it ended its global sponsorship deal with Markit. Some speculated that the survey's weak results on China had caused some political problems, but we argued it's likely just an easy target as the bank cuts costs and refocuses.
